Domex Glass Types
Tempered Glass
Tempered glass is the initial measure for enhancing the safety and security of any window. It offers greater resistance to impact and extreme temperatures. In the event of breakage, tempered glass breaks into small, dull-edged fragments, which greatly lowers the risk of injury compared to regular glass.
Safety Glass
Safety glass shields individuals nearby from injury if it shatters. It consists of two layers of glass with a polyvinyl butyral film in between, which keeps the fragments contained. The dual-pane construction enhances the glass’s resistance to breaking.
Antisol
Antisol is a tinted glass offered by Sonarol in four distinct colors: graphite, brown, green, and blue. In addition to its distinctive tint, Antisol glass reduces sunlight penetration, helping to prevent excessive light and heat from entering indoor spaces.
Security Glass
Security (or anti-burglary) glass is typically available in two strength classes: P2 and P4. Both classes consist of two 4 mm thick glass layers, with P2 having two layers of plastic film and P4 having four. This construction makes the glass highly resistant to breaking and capable of withstanding deliberate, forceful impacts.
Reflex
Anti-reflective glass is treated with a special coating that reflects incoming light rather than allowing it to enter and accumulate inside. This feature helps to prevent excessive indoor temperatures and enhances the building’s exterior appearance with a mirror-like finish.
Decorative Glass
Decorative glass with various colors and patterns allows you to match your new windows to the overall style of the building. Beyond its visual appeal, decorative glass also enhances indoor privacy by distorting and blurring views from outside. Matte glass offers a similar benefit.
